Contract Operations
Contract operations means ShalePro operates your producing assets under your name and your procedures, rather than you carrying the payroll, the training program, and the coverage problem. ShalePro already operates more than 2,000 wells, hundreds of compressors, and hundreds of miles of gathering system across the Appalachian Basin, most of it for other people. Operators outsource production operations to ShalePro for three reasons: an acquisition arrives with no field staff attached, a position needs covering without adding headcount, or the overhead of running an in-house crew stops making sense at the well count involved.

What is a contract operator?
A contract operator runs producing wells and facilities on behalf of the company that owns them. The owner keeps the asset, the reserves, and the regulatory responsibility. The contract operator supplies the people, the qualifications, the training program, and the day-to-day field work. ShalePro has worked this way across the Appalachian Basin for decades and currently operates more than 2,000 wells.
Why outsource production operations instead of hiring your own operators?
Lower overhead, and coverage that does not break when one person leaves. Hiring in-house means carrying recruitment, operator qualification testing, monthly OSHA training, vehicles, and a single point of failure on every route. ShalePro spreads all of that across a workforce already running thousands of wells, so a vacation, an illness, or a resignation does not leave a route untended.
Can ShalePro operate wells we just acquired?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons operators call. An acquisition often closes with no field staff attached to it. ShalePro can hire, train, and relocate crews to fit the asset, which means production coverage from day one rather than after a hiring cycle.
Does ShalePro offer short-term contract operating?
Yes. ShalePro covers vacations, illness, and other extended absences as readily as it takes on long-term operating agreements. The same operator qualification standard applies either way.

Across the Appalachian Basin, from shops and field offices in Houston and West Alexander, Pennsylvania, Thompson and St. Marys, Pennsylvania, Clarksburg, West Virginia, Clintwood, Virginia, and Kingsport, Tennessee. Crews work across New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
Are ShalePro operators qualified to work on our system?
Yes. Every ShalePro lease operator completes a training program and must pass an operator qualification test before working alone on site, and all employees complete required safety training monthly. Qualifications for the covered tasks on your system are confirmed before crews start.
