ShalePro Awarded as VA DMME Upstream Service Provider of the Year

ShalePro Energy Services has been recognized as the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy’s Upstream Services Provider of the Year for it’s excellence in safety, environmental conservation, regulatory compliance, community outreach, and innovation/development.

The notification letter states:

“Flowback services in well drilling and completion can often be a waiting game since when well stimulation will conclude or how the well is going to respond during blowback operation are not something predictable to a tee since each well is unique. As a result, unique scheduling and procedural obstacles are there. Our Upstream Service Provider of the Year navigated these in 2019 with expert precision while also providing roustabout services, valve installations, and more.

“The EPA NSPS subpart OOOOa gave some broad changes for blowback operations nationwide. To comply with regulations, a need for efficient setup in case flaring was needed was required. Our Upstream Service Provider of the Year responded by outfitting a mobile separator and flare was on-site for more than 60 blowbacks with one producer during the year. The installation allowed quick attachment if flaring was necessary and a compact design that could maneuver the terrain while keeping operations in compliance.

“Our Upstream Service Provider of the Year award winner also provided its crew with mobile devices so they could track to the minute how operations were progressing on each well. The report was emailed from the field allowing the gas producer’s team and the environmental compliance staff to have up-to-the-minute information.

“Safety training is important to our Upstream Service Provider of the Year award winner and before employees set foot on site, they have been trained as to operator policies, as well as through a Safeland USA certified course. The trainings, coupled with daily tailgate meetings, are vital components of the company’s approach to safety and to getting the job done right from an environmental standpoint. Their highly skilled staff, well-maintained equipment, and excellent safety record and reporting are among the reasons this company was selected as the Upstream Service Provider of the Year.”

ShalePro CEO Bill Johnson said that the award shows the quality of work that ShalePro crews are providing to their clients across the Appalachian Basin and beyond.

“This award is such an honor,” said Johnson. “We always strive to put our clients needs and expectations first. This award showcases exactly how our team in Virginia has been able to provide amazing service to our clients in a safe and effective way.”

Traditionally, the awards are given out at the annual Virginia Oil and Gas Association dinner, but due to the pandemic, that event was cancelled. VOGA is currently working with all award recipients to submit photos of the awards with the winning companies to create a video that will be shared with the public later this year.
