Ty Watson Joins ShalePro in New COO Position

ShalePro is excited to announce that Ty Watson has joined our executive team as our new Chief Operations Officer. Watson brings with him more than 30 years of experience in shale plays across the United States and a long tenure of executive management positions with some of the industry’s biggest players.

“I was looking to return to the WV-PA-OH tri-state area and the Marcellus play again which is where my roots are and where I started my career,” said Watson.  “Additionally, I was very intrigued by the ShalePro model led by by Bill Johnson and the Turning Basin guys and saw how successful they had been and felt I could make a further impact on the continued growth and their specific operations.”

Prior to ShalePro, Watson worked for Schlumberger for 13 years in various technical and operational managerial positions. Later, he worked for Shell - Rocky Mountains as their Completions Team Leader for their Pinedale Asset and has held executive positions for companies such as Williams Production, Enerplus, Great Western O&G, and later for Rose Petroleum, all primarily operational roles in all the major Rocky Mountain basins for the past 20 years.  He has spent most of his time in charge of the drill, complete, and production operations, as well as mergers, asset acquisitions, and securing financial funding for projects.

Watson says that his goal in his new position is to continue the growth that ShalePro has seen.

“We hope to grow our footprint in the Marcellus/Utica with our current clients,” he said, “as well as adding those same services to the clients in the area that we do little work for now.  I feel with the current pressures of the market place, and in particular the gas market, there is a great opportunity for ShalePro to add incremental value to the operators production and midstream activities and be more cost effective for them.”

Watson also hope to help move ShalePro into new basins.

“With my previous experience in some of the other major basins in the Rockies - such as DJ Basin, Bakken, Powder River, as well as in Texas and the Mid continent, that there is great opportunity for ShalePro to make a geographical jump into a few of these basins and have the same success there that they have had in the Marcellus given the right time and opportunity.”
